March 19th

What a fun 2 years this boy has given us! I can't believe how fast time flies past when you are trying to fulfill all the responsibilities parenthood throws at you. My little buddy is officially 2 years-old and ready to bring on the next 80+ years! I still remember the day he came into this world, he was such a cute FAT baby! My 8 pounder had to mark that day as a day never to forget. I love you little buddy! You keep me smiling and guessing all day, I love it!

The kids wanted to share their love through cards...here is one from Raegan.

The birthday boy!

Practicing his shot with Uncle Troy

Thanks Kristin for the ice cream cake.

Ammon practiced blowing out candles all week. He did a good job!

New bike

Assembling the Bike

Here is what life is like around the house lately. He won't get off the bike...it's been raining outside, so they haven't made it out there yet. Happy Birthday Big Boy, your family loves you!

Boy Boy, Oh Boy!

Yes, Ammon does have a few many sisters and does try on their shoes and wants to paint his fingernails at times...but when it comes down to it, he's all boy! His latest passion is...youtube...yep that's what I said...he loves to watch trains and their horns on youtube! Here is a clip of him doing just that!

Another thing Ammon loves to do is play basketball. Nothing exceptional, but he has a good arm and tries to do what his big brother Jarom does...he definitely makes life active!

St. Patrick's Day Maddness

This year my kids didn't get pinched. They had a shirt to bring the green. My girls also wore ponytails in their hair with a green bow. (didn't quite catch the hair job in this pic)So I get home in the evening and see the kids haven't gone to bed yet...this is what I see. My husband printed out 7 brackets for each of our children to fill out. He even wanted Ammon to fill one out...crazy. But what a funny guy. No he didn't influence them or tell them what to write, only what the little numbers next to the college means. Naturally they had all the number one seeds go far...maybe they will learn about upsets and that not everything goes the way you want even when your voted to go far...hard work and team work always pay off.

Who are your final two?

Doggie

So a member of our family has had yet another nose job! This little guy has had his nose replaced at least 5 times...I've lost count really. This dog has been my (almost) 9 year-old sons' companion his entire life. When Jarom started crawling the only way to bring the dog with him was to hold it in his mouth by its nose. So it became a chew toy for many years. Lately it's just been dragged around by baby brother and being abused. So I put my magic to work and did my best to bring life back into this beloved stuffed animal.

Talent All Around

Last week Thomas Crossroads Elementary had their annual talent show at the Performing Arts Center. Rian signed up to lip sing a Taylor Swift song. We encouraged her to actually sing with the CD, but she had a great time up on stage all by herself moving around for the big crowd below. She did awesome! She loved getting a medal too. (pics from a phone camera)

Jarom and Tarin both had artwork displayed at the Performing Arts Center. Jarom's is a clay portrait of a soccer player. Tarin and her bug-eye expression are showing off her 3 dimensional Space project. Not so 3-D in this picture

So proud of my kids for doing their best!

Missy's BBshower

Saturday afternoon, I was able to enjoy the fruits of our mad dash to decluttering and cleaning of our house...5 kids can sure build up corners of stuff! We had about 23 ladies over to celebrate my sis-in-laws soon to be 3rd little boy.
(Missy you can have any of these pictures.)

Andrea Bake did a fabulous job!
THE GAME

Yep, thought I'd remind her and others the lovely mess that comes with such a cute bundle of love. 9 diapers squished, melted and crumbled with candy bars for everyone to guess what kind it is. No one will forget this anytime soon...to think my husband suggested using my 2 year olds REAL diaper messes and play name that food...

breathe in deep

Congrats and good luck to you Missy!

March 6th, 2010

The weekend has come and it has gone! Wow what a great experience! Building up to this day was pretty hard, because I rarely do anything for myself, let alone allow others (cute hubby) to help me... Thanks to my sweetie for encouraging me without pushing me over the edge. Yep, I am a very stubborn person.

So here is my medal of participation. Sounds simple, but this was a fun one to recieve. I love it when my kids like to wear it around the house. For a short while I feel like their hero...a few many more years when they have kids, I may feel like their hero again.

The Result

02:16:21 yep, way under my initial goal of 2:45! After awhile into my training I knew I could do better, but was afraid to announce anything, but in my own thoughts. I was now shooting for 2:15 and would say I pretty much hit it! That put me at a 10:25 pace. I ran the first 10 miles straight and then took a few rests now and then. So I'm thinking I just might do another race in the future and aim for a 2 hour time. I can run it straight through!

Road Trippin'

We took the kids out of school a bit early on Friday, to hit the road south to Albany, GA where the race took place. On the 3 hour drive down, I can't help but love the southern charm. I missed so much more on camera, because driving with a full van of kids is really quite...uhm...entertaining!

"Train...Chew chew" (that's how he says it)

Dawson, GA

Albany, GA

We made it to Albany, Ga and after checking in the hotel (thank you dad-in-law for the hotel points--very thankful) we decided to go on a walk around the "lake" or drainage thingy. The kids definitely needed a bit of stretching...(what are we going to do when we drive out to AZ? This was nothing of a drive!)

haven't had a chance to do much photog lately...so thought I'd do some...

gotta love the weeds...they are so 'pretty' this time of year

and they are off...

Set out my stuff for the next early morning! I'm no early riser (use to be) but thought if I had a hard time getting up at 5:30am I should at least be ready. #2034 that's me!

Snickers Marathon Energy Bar Race

6am, I've eaten a great breakfast, all dressed and ready to go. Am I beaming? Yep, I'm excited! Ammon wasn't too sure what to think, but he liked it too. BTW Kiley, love the shirt!

Snickers Marathon Energy Bar Race
Here I come! Thanks honey for documenting my day. Here I am at mile 10 and haven't stopped yet. I decided I would get a drink and walk a bit...and to my surprise, there was my cute family cheering section! They are so cute. Half of them didn't know what to do, but some waved and cheered amidst the cold, frosty morning. Love you guys!

"hi guys!"

'Drink' in the lovely scenery. It was a fantastic race with great neighborhoods, people cheering on and well organized. Just might do this one again...

So Curious!

It is so fun to watch my little guy grow up! It also brings me back to when all the other kids went through this stage. The how-does-it-work stage. He keeps me so busy, that I can't help but to watch his enthusiasm and reaction as I clean up after his crazy schemes.

I see you!

Art Work

Over a week ago, Raegan was invited to a birthday party by her best buddy Natalie. Since Rian's best bud is Sydney (Natalie's sister) I brought both...and they had a blast. After food and festivities, we all headed over to the Pottery Patio to paint a tile. These are how they turned out...
Raegan was determined to paint a rose...so cute.

Rian wanted to monogram her initials...

Observations

Nothing new that my little buddy Ammon was rummaging through my bathroom cupboards. But he discovered how to use an item. I didn't notice he had taken my blow dryer until it came time that I needed it. I searched and searched for it, until in a corner that never gets used next to our couch I find this...

Creative? or just plain Bored?!
Sundays have become more relaxing since our church times have changed...but I'm not sure the kids feel the same way. Now they just have a lot of time on their hands...
