A Day At The Parade

2010 Turin Tractor Parade...Trent saw this in the local news Saturday morning. I, of course, love these things. So being the good guy he is, told me to go. I decided to invite a friend, Symony, that also has a camera she's trying to learn on. Being the even better guy that Trent is, watched her kids too so we could spend the morning/afternoon out. So here are just a few pics of the day...still have soo much to learn!
Loving the South!

My parents have had one of these tractors since I was a wee little one...I didn't know they still made them!

STARRS MILL

The parade only lasted about an hour, so we drove to another place to practice our shots...again, I love the south for it's charm and beauty!

Happy Birthday To Raegan

August 19th was Raegan's 6th birthday! She has been asking for weeks how many more days til this day! She is a sweet little girl! I couldn't imagine our family without her! Happy Birthday to you sweetie pie!Birthday breakfast/cake early before school.
For Raegan's birthday and post-Tarin Birthday, we had a party celebration at Jump2It . Both Tarin and Raegan have never had a birthday party, so we decided to combine the event.

Quite the crew of kids and siblings.

Andrea Bake strikes again. She is so talented! Thank you! It's gorgeous!

Gathered around for gift openings. Thanks to all of you who came, it was so much fun!

Play School

Doesn't quite get to ride the bus, but Ammon has play school twice a week. Several of us moms got together to allow our kids some social time and learning time. But best of all us moms have some free time to ourselves, but also get to be part of their learning. Starting out with a cheesy camera smile.

He wasn't too sure about this at first, but now he can't wait to go!

My family is growing up!

Gpa In Town

While Trent was out of town in Boston, his dad came to visit while on business in Atlanta. Everyone came over and had a great time. Ammon loves his Gpa Wardwell and his entertainment.

Weekend in Boston

Rhonda told me that I had to be the one to write this post since I was the one on the trip, and since I am a 100% obedient husband, here I am.

I had a chance to spend last weekend in Boston, but first some "history" on how this little trip came about.

Basically, I've maintained amazing friendships with 5 guys going all the way back to my Mission Days in California. They are: Chris Runyan, Jason Strong, Seth Wheeler, Jeremy Miller and Evan Smith. After we all returned home from our missions, the 6 of us roomed together at BYU in the Riviera for a semester until one by one we started getting married (One of us still hasn't taken that step...you know who you are..put a ring on her finger!!!!). Over the years we've all stayed in close contact and every couple of years we try to get together in what we call "Dogg Reunions" to catch up and have fun with each other. Believe me, we have some fun when we are together (Euchre Games with consequences, Brotherhood of the Travelling Rug (don't ask), Various alleged acts of indiscretion with each other's Mothers, Horse Humor and WAYYY too many "That's what she said" jokes for 5 Priesthood Holders :-).

Evan called us all a few weeks ago with some unfortunate news that Dr.s had found a tumor in his brain, and subsequently additional tumors in his body. Evan asked if the 5 of us could all fly into Boston (where Evan lives) to spend a weekend with him and lift his Spirits, etc. as he went through numerous tests, procedures, etc. So, we all came in from all over the Country: Jason from California, Jeremy from Portland, OR, Seth from parts Unknown, most recently London, Chris from Cincinnati, OH and me from Atlanta.

We had an AMAZING weekend, even though we were pretty much locked up in the hospital with Evan the entire time. We laughed, played cards, ate food and laughed some more. Played some guitar hero in the evenings, and steamrolled Chris the first night. In all, it was a great relaxing weekend with my best friends, we are already talking about our plan to get together next year after Evan BEATS this infection that is attacking his body. The six of us as a whole have an amazing bond of brotherhood, it is really special to be a part of.

You can follow Evan's fight here: http://evanisasurvivor.blogspot.com/ Rhonda has it linked to the right on our blog.

This is Saturday morning (very early) as Evan was prepped for surgery to remove a few of the tumors in his abdomen so that they could be biopsied.

Pictured Clockwise from Evan (you could probably guess which one is him): Cheryl (Ev's wife), Seth, Jeremy, Jason and Chris.

This is Chris, Seth and Jeremy. We are hanging out in the halls of MGH (Mass General Hospital) with Evan on the Hospital Bed. We are pretty much taking pictures of him and making fun of him at this point.

This is the six of us on the last day we were together, Evan was getting discharged from the Hospital and we all had to leave for our flights back home. Great weekend. Pretty powerful bunch of guys:
Evan - Lawyer in Boston
Jeremy - Financial Analyst in Portland
Jason - IT for Wells Fargo in CA.
Seth - Investment Banker / U.S. Gov't
Chris - Doctor - 2nd Yr. Resident at UC in Plastics / Facial Reconstruction
Trent - I make babies and fart a lot.

Another School Year Begins

Monday, August 9th...first day of school! Getting up at 6am is hard, after a relaxed, and yet busy summer. As you can see I missed the chance to get pictures of each of the kids...the bus came right as I was having them stand at the front door! I am sure he was early by at least 2 minutes!!! This is the only picture I got...I know I will see many of these images during this next year...running for the bus...**it comes at 7AM!!**
This will be our last year of all 4 in one building. Rian will be in middle school next year...by the time Ammon makes it to Elem. school, 3 Wardwell's will be the max. that any facility will have.
Rian in 5th grade
Jarom in 4th grade
Tarin in 2nd grade
Raegan in 1st grade

Funny Faces

Ammon is our exaggerator! He loves to make funny faces...especially when he has an audience (siblings) to coach him on...

Big Boy!

Ammon is close to being a potty trained little man. We just thought we do a trial run day so I can learn what we need to work on before I dive right in and make this thing for real. So far I need to help him learn to pull up the back side of his underwear and a few other minor details.

Thomas the Train bum.

FINISHED!

We started these quilts last year...and never finished them. I finally dusted them off and had the kids finish them. They are so proud of their creation, and I'm so proud of them for not only completing it, but enjoying it as they worked!

Jarom isn't really a picture taking kind of kid, so I was glad to get this out of him. Now my boy can appreciate what effort goes into making things and how it happens.
