Packing up

I had the opportunity to go to Utah for Education Week at BYU. I was starting to pack up and this is what I found.

Silly girl, she really wanted to go with me.

I met up with my sisters, Shanda, Tana and my mom. It was a fun week with wonderful classes. It also felt so good to be back on campus. It brought back some wonderful memories...no, not of other guys, honey...but of the atmosphere and fun times.

Hiking Mount Timpanogos

My sister Shanda and I took the first day to hike up in Provo Canyon. I've hiked this trail before, but my sis. had not... I just have to say, I thought I was in better shape, but wow, I was sore for many days...

We made it to Stewart Falls. Good thing too, it was already a hot day. But we were only a 1/4 of the way up.

You can't see Aspen Grove anymore, we were up near the top. You can see Heber Valley. One disclaimer, I wasn't use to the altitude...and I was so tired. We probably had only 45 mins to an hour left to make it to Emerald Lake, but we started to late in the day and decided to make our way down before the sun went down. I know Shanda, I was the whimp. You were dragging me up at the end.

It was so beautiful...and literally breath-taking. There were only a few glacial patches left.

Trevor's Bike

For those who haven't seen Trevor's latest purchase, here is a preview. I know he will be driving down to AZ in a week or so, but you saw it here first folks.

August 19th

A few birthdays on this day. While out in Utah, we took Carrie out to lunch at Olive Garden. It was so fun to be together with everyone again. It was also Mike's birthday (sorry Mike, you didn't get to hang out with the girls), Jodi's husband.

Happy Birthday Carrie!

This day was also my daughter Raegan's birthday. I was so sad to be out of town on her birthday. This is our celebration the Saturday after.

This was Trent's idea of a blind fold.

Surprise! Raegan had finally gotten her own bike. No more asking permission every time for someone elses'. She loves it.

Celebrating JP's Birthday

Jeff's birthday is actually tomorrow the 25th, but while out there, we celebrated with Key Lime cheesecake! Very yummy! It was awesome to see my brother and his family. Seeing Tanner just made me miss my little/big Ammon back home. (Nice pants their Carter)

I know the kids had a great time. Jackson is standing, then Braedon, Carter, Hallie, and Bo Bo Bronson (Tanner is missing). To think, my kids would have doubled the crowd!

Your Olympic Update!!

Well, you've got a "Guest Poster" on the blog today...that's right, Rhonda is out of town this week spending some time in Utah with her family so that leaves me (Trent) home with the kids for the week. Ammon got me off to a great start this morning with a 5am wake up call...but everything is going great. Along with taking care of the kids....Rhonda told me I had to keep the blog updated...so here goes.....

We have really enjoyed watching a lot of the Olympic Events over the past week or so, and are proud to introduce to you at this time our future Olympian...Mr. Ammon Wardwell.

Before you call me crazy for already predicting 9 GOLD MEDALS for Ammon Wardwell in the 2032 Summer Games to be held in Panguitch, Utah.... lets look at the facts here:

1. There has been a lot made about Michael Phelps and his "amazing" 12,000 Calorie a day diet. Are you kidding me? Ammon Wardwell was consuming 12,000 calories through his Umbilical Cord! He's up to 15,000 a day now...whatcha got Phelps?

2. Ammon already outweighs Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin..............Combined! (20 lbs.)

3. He has already started to develop the backstroke. Attached is video proof for your viewing pleasure.......watch out Phelps, your record will not stand forever!!!!

(Ammon is the one in the video wearing a white #3 sized Speedo)

Our Ward Activity was the Pinewood Derby. Two divisions, one with the specified weight and the second as heavy weight. As you can see our track is high tech, and even had the placement projected onto a wall for everyone to see. This was our first year to make cars. At first our kids were a bit disappointed that their cars weren't "first", but they loved their medals. It was a lot of fun.

Hungry For More

I promise he does get enough to eat...well, I guess it shows all over. I have to say this is my favorite thing to do with my boy. He is so much fun to feed, because he grunt/whines for the next spoonful and if I'm not quick enough, he goes for the bib. Because he is in his favorite element (food) I can get him to smile so sweetly. Parenting has some of the sweetest rewards...

School Begins

Let's just say it was Christmas in August for Raegan...I'm not really sure what time she woke up, but it was still dark and no one was awake...that is until she woke Tarin to join her.

Raegan started Pre-K
Tarin started Kindergarden

Jarom was still a little excited, but agrees with Rian, "back to work". Jarom started 2nd grade.

I think deep down, she was excited for her first day of 3rd grade

Here they are, ready for daddy to take them to school. Starting Monday we will have them ride the bus to school. I promise, they were excited...it just doesn't show.

According to Raegan, this was her favorite part of the day (the whole day was fun, but she said this was her favorite).

Yes, all 4 of the kids that got off do go to one household. Wow, 4 Wardwell's in one school. Ammon will miss out.

Happy Birthday Trent

Another year has gone by. Trent turned 32 yesturday. It's nice to have a little family nearby to help celebrate.

This is our family's tradition, (because it's easy and doesn't take much talent). Chocolate Chip Cookie cake with the up coming Michigan football season colors.

The kids were so excited for daddy to open their gifts they had gotten him...they used their own little savings to get him bubble gum and candy.

Group family hug.

Once again, we had everyone over for dinner to wish Trent a happy, happy birthday. We love you, we love you Trent. (sorry for the cheesy music on the video, I'm experimenting)

Band Time

Here is a video of Rian, Denham and Brenin playing in there "band". They are singing a song from the movie "Bridge to Terabithia" (sp?) Normally Jarom, Tarin and Raegan are in the band, but Jarom was school shopping with dad and the others were in quiet time.
