House Siding

The siding is done. Gutters will be going up and the pillars on the porch will soon be installed. Insulation is finished and sheet rock will be started Thursday. Obviously more dirt was brought in for the front, and for the back.
To see more detail double click the picture. Check out the Atlanta MLS to see our current house on the market with the virtual tour.

Six Flags Over Georgia

We were treated by Gma and Gpa Wardwell to a day at Six Flags Over Georgia. The kids went with Gma and Gpa for half the day then Gpa took them home for swimming and a movie. Us grown-ups had a great time standing in line...and riding the rides. This is Trent, Troy, Ally, Stacey (and Rhonda) waiting for the new ride "Goliath." It was amazing. We rode the fabulous 5, Goliath, Superman, Acrophobia, Scorcher and Batman. And a few repeats.

Acrophobia...
you can see Rhonda opted out of this one. Stacey, Trent, Ally and Troy

Troy takes a shot at hoops. (A few dollars later.)
He shoots, he scores!

The winning prize for his wife, Ally.

Trents' not-so-lucky shot.

House Is Coming Along!

We have shingles and the house is wrapped. Now the siding begins. By the end of the week, our house will look mostly complete.

We have a back deck going in. It's going to be awesome. It will finish when the siding goes up.

This will be the bonus room above the garage. Plenty of room for people to come visit. Hint! Hint!

This is looking from the living room toward the front door. The kids love having stairs. I guess mom will be in great shape with stairs in the house.

Jarom Graduates From Kindergarden

Jarom is ready to graduate. It was a 50's theme, so he has rolled up sleves and sunglasses.

Jarom receives his diploma from Kindergarden. Good thing Jaroms class was first, because I felt like the kid in the bottom left corner, except with Tarin and Raegan running around. It's funny they have these events. But it was cute.

Grandma and Grandpa Come

The house is up for sale. I can't believe we are doing it. I'm going to miss this house so much. It is a great house.

Grandma and Grandpa
Palmer came out and helped us fix up our house. Mostly little odds and ends, but we all stayed pretty busy. You both are lucky I was busy and didn't get too many more pictures. Grandma, I can't believe I didn't get any of you. You escaped this time. Thank you, and the kids really enjoyed having you here. They really miss you guys. I hear "scallywag" all the time.

Knoll Wood Court

The house is really taking shape. Although the framers are almost 2 weeks behind, the roof is going on. Hopefully the house will be wrapped, windows and doors go in and the roof finished by the end of the week. Let's hope.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day Spa! What a treat. Daddy did a great job today. The kids helped massage my feet, my back and gave me a facial. Quite the treatment. Not to mention pink, chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Thanks guys. (I look kind of scary.)

Girls Night Out

This was a special night for just the girls. The boys had the "Fathers and Sons campout", so we went out to eat at Red Robin. We had a chocolate, oreo shake and great food.

Showing her usual big smile, Tarin loves grilled cheese sandwich.

Raegan made sure she had her macaroni. A booster chair could have been used, but she's "to big" for that.

Rian wanted to show the lucky nickle she found. She had the Red Robin cheeseburger.

Jarom's Party Day

Mom made Jarom's favorite "cake." A cookie cake.

Pizza Party at Partner's Pizza. Pizza is Jarom's favorite food.

Hat Day at School

Rian proudly wears mom's U of Michigan hat for hat day at school. Raegan wanted to be apart of it too. She even wore some of Rian's shoes to "be Rian."

Jarom Turns 6 !

Happy Birthday Jarom. Monday, May 1, Jarom had pancakes with candles for breakfast before school. Family gifts were opened, and Saturday a party will be given.

Framing Begins

Front view of the hosue.

Main level takes shape. This is the back of the house.

The kids love watching the house take shape. This is a playground for the kids. Of course, mom and dad are a bit more worried about debris. This is taken out of the basement window in the back of the house.

A crew begins framing out the basement.

The slab and walls look good. We even opened up the space that will go under the front porch and made a "storm shelter."

Lot 52 -- Concrete Walls Are Poured

Concrete has made this building experience more real. The forms for the walls are up and being filled with concrete. This is the view from the main drive. As you see, we will have a large side yard.

In the next few days we should be pouring the floor. The idea was to start framing as early as next week.

Looking at the front of the house; the basement walls.

Happy Easter

I'm too old for this, but never too old for the candy.

Jarom thinks he's all that.

Tarin thought the church grounds looked a bit different.

Raegan definitely liked the idea of searching for hidden candy. She also loved having a special basket just for the event.

Already for Easter Sunday. Everyone was happy with there new, spring outfits.

Joy School

This is Tarin painting with her Joy School friends.

Tarin's Joy School group. It was my turn to teach, and the subject was mixing colors. At this very moment they were all quiet and busy. I guess painting will always be a favorite. Tarin's friends are Lana (pink headband), Haley (green shirt), McKaylin (pony tail), and Catalina (blue shirt).

Lot 52 Is Ready For Concrete

This is the corner of Knollwood Ct. looking onto the property.

This view is looking down into the basement. The back end will be open for the daylight/walk out basement.

This is looking toward the cul de sac from the back left corner of the house.

Rian Gets a Hair Cut

Rian decided to get her hair cut. She grew it out, but wanted something different. Mom tried to talk her out of it, but Rian insisted.

Wow, long beautiful hair! Mom is jealous.

With the cheesy smile, Rian loves her new hair cut. Mom was so sad watching all of the long, beautiful hair cut and fall to the floor. But not as many knots to comb through or wash in the shower.

Lot 52 Gets a face lift--Dirt

We had 4 dump trucks running for almost 3 days. There is close to 300 loads of dirt dumped to build up the lot. This view will be the front of the house.

This is a shot from the main road, Cresent Dr. The house was suppose to face this direction, but with dirt/water conditions, it is facing the cul de sac, Knoll Wood Ct.

Happy Valentine's Day

It is that lovely time of year when kids get to decorate crazy boxes to receive valentine's and...candy! Rian used an oatmeal box and feathers to express her sassy self. She loves it.

This is big boy Jarom. In his class they made their valentine boxes to resemble themselves. It truly is him...a big heart!

Here are the "sucker" girls. They really like valentine's day! They also got new shirts out of it.
